Enjoy a Full Day Hike in the Stunning National Park
Your hiking experience will begin at Piano Battaglia, a famous ski resort of the Madonie Mountains where we will find a modern chairlift that will lead us to the summit of the Mufara (about 1950m), and from which we will enjoy a wonderful panorama of breath-taking views.
From here we will set off among beech woods, wide meadows and ancient trees including the Abies Nebrodensis, an endemic species presents only in Sicily, to reach Piano Farina, a rest area formerly used by shepherds during the pasture of the herds. Here we will see the old haystacks built according to ancient traditions.
Here we will witness and take part in the transformation of milk into different types of Sicilian cheese. The guide will explain all the interesting steps carefully.
Then enjoy a tasting of cold cuts, cheese, vegetables and why not, a glass of local wine!
We will resume the traces of the path to observe Pizzo Canna, where the eagle nests, to continue up to Portella Mandarini.
